Gaming is a major part of the Archon weekend, bringing together players of all experience levels for board games, role-playing games, collectible card games, miniatures games, and special events.
Whether you are joining a one-shot adventure, sitting down for a favorite board game, trying a new system, testing your deck, or leading forces across a battlefield, the gaming area is a great place to meet people and jump into the fun.
New players are welcome, experienced players are encouraged, and Game Masters are always appreciated.
Signing Up for Games
Archon uses the Grinning Demon Games system for gaming events and player schedules.
- Visit the Archon Gaming site.
- Create a new account.
- Click View Gaming Events.
- Select the games you want to play and click Add To Schedule.
- Once your games are selected, use View My Schedule and bring that information to Gaming Registration.
An Archon membership is required to participate in gaming events.
Want to Run a Game?
Archon needs Game Masters every year. If you are interested in running a board game, RPG, CCG event, miniatures game, or other gaming event, please submit your game through the gaming submission system.
Submitting a Game
To help keep submissions organized, game events should be submitted through the Archon Gaming site rather than by email, social media, or text.
- Create an account on the gaming site.
- Click Submit to Run An Event.
- Complete the submission form for each game you want to run.
- After submitting, you can review the status of your events online.
Once Gaming staff have reviewed your event and assigned a table number, the event information will appear in the system.
Submission Information
- Game name
- Short game description
- Number of players
- Preferred session and second choice
- Preferred table type: round or rectangle
Two-hour games should be submitted for either the A or B half of a session. Four-hour games use the full session number.
The deadline for inclusion in the online booklet is August 31. Games submitted after that date may not appear in the early online booklet, and preferred sessions cannot be guaranteed.

Game Master Discount Policies
New Game Masters
- First-time Archon Game Masters must pay the current Archon membership rate up front.
- First-time Game Masters must schedule at least four hours of game events.
- A partial membership refund may be available for additional scheduled game hours.
- Refunds are handled on site at the end of the convention.
- Only scheduled, non-canceled event hours are eligible for the partial refund.
- The current partial refund amount is $15 per four-hour session, down to a $15 out-of-pocket minimum.
Returning Game Masters in Good Standing
- Returning Archon Game Masters who schedule at least twelve hours of game events may receive the current year’s GM rate.
- Eligibility will be verified when the game is submitted.
- A Game Master in good standing does not have a no-show history with Archon.
- Game Masters should make a reasonable effort to fill available seats before canceling an event.
- If open seats remain after 5 minutes, players with alternate tickets may be accepted.
- If open seats remain after 10 minutes, other available players may be accepted.
- If there are still not enough players after 10 minutes, contact Gaming HQ.
- Games canceled for lack of players after following these steps will not count toward the discount, but will preserve good standing with Gaming.
