Join the Archon Staff

Archon is built by fans, for fans. Every year, our all-volunteer staff works together to create a weekend of science fiction, fantasy, gaming, art, costuming, panels, performances, and community.

If you have ever wanted to help make Archon happen, we would love to hear from you. Whether you have years of convention experience or are looking for your first opportunity to get involved, there may be a place for you on the Archon staff.

There Are Many Ways to Help

It takes many departments to produce the convention, including areas such as programming, gaming, registration, art show, logistics, hospitality, social media, events, and more. Some departments work mostly before the convention, while others are focused on convention weekend.

The staff interest form lets you tell us about the areas that interest you and the skills or experience you would like to contribute. After you submit the form, we will share your information with the appropriate department head—or heads, if you express interest in multiple areas.

What Happens Next?

A department head may reach out to answer your questions, tell you more about their department, and determine whether it is a good fit for both you and the team.

Filling out the form does not commit you to anything. It simply lets us know that you are interested in learning more about joining the Archon staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous convention experience?

Not at all. Many staff members started as attendees who simply wanted to help. Enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn are often just as important as previous experience.

Can I express interest in more than one department?

Absolutely. You may tell us about all the departments that interest you. This helps us find the best fit based on your interests, skills, and the needs of the convention.

Once you have had a chance to speak with the department heads, you will generally be asked to commit to a single department. This helps everyone focus on their responsibilities and keeps staffing organized. There are occasional exceptions when the duties of two departments do not overlap.

Am I committing to anything by filling out the form?

No. The form is simply a way to let us know that you are interested. A department head may contact you to discuss opportunities and answer your questions.
