Archon is a vibrant, fan-run celebration of science fiction, fantasy, and imagination, bringing together creators, fans, and curious newcomers for an unforgettable weekend in the St. Louis area.

Hosted each year by St. Louis Science Fiction, Ltd., Archon has been a cornerstone of the region’s fandom community since 1977. What began as a small gathering of passionate fans has grown into one of the largest and longest-running multi-genre conventions in the Midwest, welcoming thousands of attendees each year.

The Masquerade

One of Archon’s signature events is the Masquerade, widely recognized as one of the premier costume competitions in the country. Featuring categories for all experience levels, from first-time entrants to master costumers, the Masquerade highlights both stunning recreations of beloved characters and imaginative original designs.

What makes it especially memorable is the collaboration between contestants and a dedicated team of volunteer lighting and sound professionals, helping each entry shine on stage. For many attendees, the Masquerade is the highlight of the weekend and a celebration of fandom creativity at its best.

Gaming at Archon

Gaming is also a major part of the Archon experience. Attendees can take part in tabletop role-playing games, miniatures, card games, and special events throughout the convention.
